About the Project
Help shape the future of sustainable farming. This internship is part of a cutting-edge collaboration between the University of Oxford and Pilgrim’s Europe, tackling one of the biggest challenges and opportunities in UK agriculture: improving the sustainability of pig farming.
You’ll play a hands-on role in gathering vital data from farmers across the country, insights that will feed directly into world-class research and industry action on climate-smart farming.
What You’ll Do
• Engage with farmers: Conduct structured telephone interviews, building rapport and collecting reliable data.
• Collect and record accurate date: Record responses in survey tools and check figures (kg, t, kWh, L) for accuracy and plausibility.
• Feedback and collaborate with the team: Regularly feedback to the team to summarise your progress, highlight trends etc.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Quantitative skills and an eye for detail.
• Familiarity with pig farming systems and terminology.
• A clear, confident, and friendly phone manner.
Desirable:
• Experience running surveys or interviews.
• Knowledge of farm sustainability and carbon footprinting.
• Experience with survey software and Excel
