How to Apply
BTF Partnership is currently seeking a Graduate, Trainee Rural Surveyor to join our dynamic team based in Challock, Kent.
BTF Partnership is a progressive firm of rural and commercial Chartered Surveyors and Land Agents, operating from three offices across Kent and Sussex. Widely regarded as one of the leading independent practices in the South East, BTF is committed to delivering forward-thinking, clear and practical advice, underpinned by strong local knowledge and extensive industry expertise.
We provide a full range of professional services to a broad and diverse client base. In addition, we have a thriving Agency business, specializing in commercial property, land, farms and country estates and a dedicated Estate Management team acting for some of the largest privately-owned landed estates in the area.
Owing to the extreme variation of land use in the South-East we are able to offer rich and varied experience in all aspects of rural surveying. Whilst traditional services such as valuation, planning, development and landlord and tenant advice feature heavily in our workloads, we are also specialists in more niche areas of work, from utilities, infrastructure and compulsory purchase work, strategic land and development services, through to the emerging renewable energy sector, as the UK works towards net-zero by 2050.
We have an excellent first-time success rate in preparing candidates for both the APC and CAAV examinations, with a 100% pass rate in the last 2 years with an ex-APC assessor and CAAV examiner heavily involved in our training programme. Trainees enjoy a high level of responsibility with a strong emphasis on a varied workload and given our collaborative approach are made to feel a valued part of the team.
Applicants should have:
• A good practical knowledge of agriculture and rural property management
• An RICS accredited degree preferred but not essential
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with keen attention to detail.
Successful candidates will enjoy immediate face to face client contact and undertake a diverse and interesting range of professional, valuation, agency, planning, landlord and tenant and rural property management work.
We have a strong track record in training graduate surveyors to Director level and can offer high quality experience, with excellent potential for career progression within a highly successful team.
Competitive salary and benefits depending on experience.
