About Us:

We milk 240 cows robotically on an all year round calving system processing some milk on-farm, with majority supplied to Roddas. Alongside the dairy herd, all replacements and beef young stock are reared in house. Our arable rotation covers approximately 800ac and includes grass, cereals and maize with most field work completed in house using contractors when required.

Currently undergoing expansion with major investments into growth, efficiencies and animal health and welfare planned and it could prove to be an exciting time to join our team.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Herd Manager to join our team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about dairy farming and looking to expand their skills. You will play a vital role in supporting the overall management of our herd, with a focus on calf care, robotic milking operations, AI, foot trimming, dry cow management, and general farm duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in dairy farming, particularly with calf care and herd management
  • Familiarity with robotic milking systems is highly desirable
  • Competence in tractor driving and general machinery operation
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on animal welfare
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable using farm management software and other digital tools for record-keeping, data analysis, and system management
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and farming practices
  • Full UK driving license and Tractor license
