How to Apply

Belmont Estate is looking for an Estate Assistant to join the team: a hands-on, physical role spanning livestock husbandry, woodland management, grounds maintenance and walled garden support across a working estate and organic farm near Bristol. You’ll be at the heart of the estate’s day-to-day operation, working in a small, committed team.

This role involves caring for cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry, maintaining woodlands, grounds and boundaries and assisting with vegetable production. You’ll need to be physically capable, flexible in your approach and passionate about your work and feel aligned with the values and purpose of Belmont.

About Belmont

We are a regenerative organisation bringing together people, places and projects to create environmental and societal change through nature recovery, climate action and community connection.

At Belmont we are rewilding and rewetting landscapes, restoring peatlands, replanting native woodlands and rejuvenating rivers. Through organic farming and our award-winning nature connection programme, we are connecting people to nature, food and one another to inspire everyone to become part of this movement for change.

What we’re looking for

  • Practical, confident experience across agricultural and estate machinery, including tractor and telehandler operation.
  • Knowledgeable, competent and safe livestock handling across cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry, with a sound understanding of animal welfare and husbandry.
  • Experience of grounds, garden and boundary maintenance.
  • Ability to operate and care for tools, vehicles and estate machinery, and to identify and report defects promptly.
  • Physically fit and resilient, with the stamina and willingness to work hard outdoors in all weathers.
  • A positive, flexible attitude with enthusiasm for the varied and demanding nature of estate work.
  • Chainsaw licence (CS30/CS31 or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
  • Full and clean driving licence.
