How to Apply

Established in 1996 and based in Norfolk (England), VCS provides independent agronomy services for a wide range of field crops totalling over 15,000 ha of both conventional and organic vegetable production.

An integral part of the VCS business is the provision of support services to its clients such as crop sampling, quality analysis and pest & disease monitoring.

In addition to the agronomy and consultancy business, VCS operates a trials team specialising in trials associated with all aspects of field vegetable production including; efficacy evaluation trials for registration purposes, variety screening trials, collaborative projects with research institutions and industry partners as well as inhouse and grower sponsored trials.

The role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who can provide support to our trials and agronomy teams. This can cover all aspects of trials work including establishing trials, field assessments, harvesting and data collation. The Technical Assistant will also assist with the provision of support services to growers.

The ability to operate machinery and any pesticide application certificates would be advantageous but are not essential. The candidate should be able to make detailed assessments and record information accurately. Excellent communication skills are required as you will be working as part of a small team. Most importantly the candidate should be hard-working and keen to learn about all aspects of field vegetable production.

Full driving licence is essential due to the nature of the work involved. PA1 & PA6 advantageous but not required.

This an excellent opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of UK field vegetable production whilst learning the fundamental principles of field trials.
