How to Apply

Elveden is a 22,500-acre country estate, and is home to a progressive, innovative agricultural business. We farm over 10,000 acres of the Estate in addition to 9,500 acres of silt land. Wherever possible we invest in the latest technology and equipment to enhance and challenge our team to continually improve their skills.

This position is for a current University Student seeking an opportunity in their placement year.

We are offering a unique opportunity for somebody looking to experience both the operational, technical and an insight into the agronomy side of root vegetable and combinable crop production.

The position will start at a practical level helping secure the combinable crop and then root vegetable harvests. The type of practical tasks experienced at this stage will depend on the level of tractor driving skills you currently possess or are able to demonstrate. There will also be opportunity to work within our pre- and post-harvest technical team learning about crop quality and meeting customer specifications and expectations.

For the next cropping year, you will be able to experience field visits with our technical team and independent agronomists, plus build your understanding of the challenges faced at different crop stages. There will also be the chance to further refine your machine operation skills as we move into the second harvest.

If you are looking for a rounded experience and taste of both technical and practical crop production, and are a good communicator, keen to learn and looking to be part of a forward-thinking team, then this is the job for you. We won’t be put off by your current practical or agronomic skill set, so please get in touch as we can tailor the role to most people.
