Description
How to Apply
Lodge Farm is a 300-acre sheep farm on the edge of the Cotswold scarp near Tetbury/Leighterton. The ground cover is now predominantly permanent pasture and herbal leys. We manage the land using regenerative principles, focusing increasingly on soil health and biodiversity, and using adaptive rotational grazing. We have recently lambed 270 ewes, nearly all of which have now been turned out.
Our shepherd is currently away on compassionate leave, so we are looking for someone to help manage the flock, as well as carry out other related tasks. Regular duties include stock checking, setting up new paddocks with electric fencing and moving stock into them, bottle feeding a handful of lambs. In addition we will require extra help to support one-off tasks such as shearing, bluetongue vaccinations etc. This is a good opportunity to gain hands on experience on farm.
Requirements
Some experience working with livestock, general knowledge of and interest in regen ag, passion for nature-friendly farming and encouraging bio-diversity. Motivated self-starter - ability to work solo as well as part of a small team. Driving license.
