The Talland School of Equitation is a family run Riding Centre, we offer lessons to everyone from beginner to advanced. Top class training available along with Riding Holidays, Intensive Courses and much more!

Due to staff sickness, we are now looking for a temporary member to join the office team at Talland.

We are looking for a part time administrative assistant (34 hours per week) covering Wednesday to Saturday inclusive.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused individual to work in our office, it is a varied job role to include (but not limited to):

  • Taking lesson bookings, face to face, over the phone and via email
  • Organising Holiday/Short course packages.
  • Showing prospective clients and students around the facilities and discussing our course options
  • Taking payments from clients
  • Showing clients to their horses/ Instructor and potentially helping them to the school and to mount their horses
  • Keeping records of lessons given/payments made
  • Liaising with staff members to maintain the smooth running of the school
  • Regular updating of social media and Website.
  • Helping to produce newsletters

Knowledge of the equine industry and experience with horses is essential.

Previous admin experience required (or transferrable skills). We would preferably like the new team to be confident using MS Office/ Excel/ Powerpoint and the use of WordPress is an advantage along with strong computer skills as we will be moving on an online booking platform in the near future. Equestrian knowledge is essential and understanding of BHS Exams system is a bonus.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who is highly organized and used to working in a fast-paced environment, where you will be required to think on your feet and must have excellent attention to details.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be able to undergo an enhanced DBS check. Equine First and child safeguarding would be a bonus, but training will be provided.

Possibility of live in, and livery available for your horse.

Wage dependent on experience
