How to Apply

We farm 470Ha in Caxton, West Cambridgeshire. 420Ha of the farm is cropped and the remaining area is in a mixture of Countryside Stewardship and SFI options, as well as small areas of woodland and a scheduled monument medieval moat. We also host Sweetpea Market Garden, work closely with a local shepherd and his flying flock and deliver school education sessions. The farm benefits from a recently built modern farm yard including bunded sprayer wash down area, modern staff restroom and meeting facilities.

We farm following the regenerative principles of minimising soil disturbance, keeping soils covered, keeping living roots in the soil and integrating livestock. Our farm’s mantra is ‘living roots and diversity’ and we apply this to all elements of the farm.

Due to an employee moving to be closer to family, we are looking for someone to join our team in the day-to-day running of the farm. We are looking for a flexible individual who is interested in, and capable with, machinery, but equally curious about all aspects of regenerative farming and the wider environment. With significant income drawn from both Countryside Stewardship and SFI, we value the ‘unfarmed’ just as highly as the arable areas of the farm.

As with the rest of the team, this role will also involve work with the local farm cluster, farming research projects (particularly with BOFIN and H3 []), development of on-farm composting and liquid ‘biological’ applications and sampling and measurement. There will also be opportunities to get involved in educational access to schools alongside our market garden tenant (Sweetpea Market Garden [] from the film ‘Six Inches of Soil’ []).
