How to Apply
Lawton Farms sits within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Marlborough Downs, close to the village of Aldbourne. The business is made up of dairy, arable and other non-farming enterprises.
There are 1300 ha of combinable crops including wheat, barley, oats, oil seed rape and beans woven into several rotations to suit specific soil types and including some forage crops of grass and whole crop cereals. Choice of variety is market driven and most crops are sold through the Openfield Marketing Group.
The dairy integrates well with the larger arable enterprise. The successful herd of 220 Holstein cows currently yields approximately 8,500 litres per annum on a twice a day milking regime. The milk is sold under a premium contract collected every other day.
