ADAS is looking for a Graduate Scientist to join our Weed Science team in Boxworth, Cambridge as a full-time and permanent Graduate Weed Scientist. This is a predominately office based role.
The role will suit a new graduate in environmental sciences, biology, ecology, agriculture or horticulture looking to develop a career in holistic weed management practices. Working with the weed science team, you will work on and develop skills covering a range of topics including herbicide resistance management and efficacy, integrated weed management and novel weed control technologies.
You will be part of the Crop Protection group, who develop, support and deliver wide-ranging programme of research on crop pests, weeds and diseases including laboratory testing, glasshouse and field-based experiments. The role will have a commercial focus and require good communication skills and the ability to work independently, interacting with other specialists within ADAS and external clients and collaborators.
You will ideally have experience of and/or knowledge of the following: laboratory and/or glasshouse seed or plant testing, agriculture, weed management and/or agronomy in the UK, however, full training will be available for the right candidate. The ability to interpret data and communicate information effectively to a range of stakeholders and clients is essential.
