How to Apply
Due to continuing growth, Redwing Ecological Surveys Ltd has several exciting field-based opportunities for Field Ornithologists to join our expanding team and work in spectacular locations throughout the Highlands and the islands of Scotland. We are looking for both seasonal (6 months from March 2026) and permanent staff.
Redwing operates in the ecology sector with specialists in ornithology, botanical and habitat surveys, protected species, Environmental Clerk of Works and research and conservation on our team.
We supply field ecological survey data to a multitude of environmental consultancies and conservation organisations.
The position will be (home) based in the Highlands and Islands and will involve field survey work, predominantly avian related (Vantage Point, Moorland Breeding Bird Surveys, Raptor Surveys etc) but will also include the opportunity to diversify your field skills into other areas such as habitat and protected species surveys within an experienced and dedicated team.
A competitive salary, annual leave allowance and access to a pool of company 4x4 vehicles for work purposes will be offered. We are happy to consider applicants who would prefer to work on a part time basis, or consider a job share role, and we also operate a very flexible working pattern and TOIL system that enables an improved life/work balance.
We appreciate that finding accommodation can be an issue in the current climate so we will consider helping the right candidates in this respect.
