How to Apply

Soil Association Exchange is a new service and web-based platform for all UK farmers to help them farm in a way that improves the climate, protects nature and enhances their profitability. Exchange works with farmers to measure the environmental impact and then delivers bespoke advice on how those scores can be improved. Crucially, it then helps farmers understand and take advantage of the links between farming more sustainably and farming profitably. Exchange is a fast-paced, commercial startup that spun out of the Soil Association charity in 2022. Exchange sells its services to a variety of customers including retailers (M&S, Sainsburys) processors (e.g. Riverford and Arla) and financial institutions (e.g. Lloyds Banking Group). Through these companies we are set to work with over 600 farms in 2024.

About the Opportunity

The Farmer Services Support role will be crucial in establishing strong relationships with our farmers as you will be their first point of contact, setting the tone for their engagement with Exchange. You will provide administrative support and guidance externally for those interacting with Exchange, onboarding new users of the Exchange platform and guiding them through the farm setup process, helping them to create a digital map of their farm.

About You

You will have:

  • Strong relationship-building skills and be open and approachable.
  • A sharing mentality – ‘for the benefit of all'.

You will be:

  • Good at working under pressure and reliable.
  • Engaged with farming and the environment.
  • A true self-starter who loves grasping a problem and then figuring out how to solve it.
