Business Description

A C Hutton and Son is an arable farm located in north east Hampshire.  The business is split over 3 sites and grows mainly Cereals and OSR. It has also entered the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) Scheme with a variety of actions being undertaken in both arable and grassland areas.

Job Title: Placement Student

An enthusiastic individual with some tractor experience, is required to be part of a small team assisting the managing partner with all aspects of running an arable farm.  This is an opportunity for the right candidate to gain hands on experience in the use of modern arable machinery and management practices (including precision farming). The main tasks will include crop establishment, fertiliser applications, combine operation & harvest tasks, grain store management, machinery maintenance and record keeping.  Training will be given where necessary. Some grassland operations will be part of the role.

The business has employed students from Agricultural Universities/Colleges for a number of years.  It is able to support FACTS training. Students will be involved in all aspects of the business and business management.
