How to Apply
About The Company:
Cotswold-based British Polo was founded in 2016 by Rich Hine. The company has since become established as one the UK’s leading producers of organic spirits, winning awards on both the national and international stage for their organic gins and rum. In 2018 their Organic Botanical Gin was voted best gin in the UK by The Guild of Fine Food. They product bespoke gins here at the RAU where they are the house pour at The Tithe.
Alongside making fantastic multi-award winning organic spirits (Great Taste 3 star), British Polo Gin is a leader in high quality and bespoke private, corporate and event hospitality. The company covers all facets of events but focuses more specifically on event bar & catering, alongside offering event management solutions. They have a firm focus on sourcing locally products to each event and to date have included running bars at: Badminton, Cornbury House, Blenheim, Osberton, Thoresby and Burghley Horse Trials and more closer to home, at the RAU May Ball.
The Role:
You would be supporting our event managers in bringing our event bars, catering and event management solutions to light at leading lifestyle and private events. The placement would start in mid May and ideally run through to the end of September. You would be paid hourly with between 20 and 30 hours worked on averaged per week.
The role would entail travelling and nights away from home whilst running events – ie at music festivals and horse trials. Owing to the demanding nature of event management successful applicants will need to bring a high EQ and have strong problem solving abilities.
To date, we have successfully run placements for RAU students in 2019 and 2024, with both students going on to accept management roles within our company.
Alongside helping to run the bars at events we’d look to involve you in:
Marketing content capture, creation and release both pre, during and post event. Ordering in of stock and reloading of trailers and bar units post event. Handling of cash post event and ever increasing client facing opportunities at the events that you are working on.
