Job Description:
Claydon Estate is a fabulous, forward-looking, family-owned country estate in Buckinghamshire which surrounds the eighteenth century Claydon House (which is today in the care of the National Trust).
The Estate extends to approximately 5000 acres and includes a large residential and commercial property portfolio, in-hand and let farming, woodland, renewable energy projects, a courtyard visitor attraction and events business and an increasing array of commercial, environmental and community focused activities. Additionally, the business includes a small property portfolio in North Wales and two properties in London.
The Candidate
Reporting directly to the Estate owners, the position will suit a dynamic, resourceful and proactive person who can juggle the many different aspects of day-to-day life on the Estate. Candidate qualities we are looking for include:
- Ideally MRICS with a proven track record in the management of private landed estates with significant alternative income generating activities.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, business savvy, with strong commercial and financial acumen, experience of budgeting, cost control, profit and loss, and a keen focus on maximising return on investment across diverse operations and income streams.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a friendly and approachable style.
- A relationship builder able to engage with a variety of individuals and negotiate successful outcomes for key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and driven, a strategic thinker, capable of showing initiative and contributing innovative ideas.
- Community orientated, with a strong commitment to the environmental and social impact of his/her role.
