Description

How to Apply
Hands-on experience within a working estate at Waddesdon Manor. You'll support a range of ecological monitoring and conservation activities, while also helping to engage visitors and local communities with the natural environment.
- Fieldwork across the estate, including wildlife surveys for bats, birds, small mammals, reptiles, and invertebrates
- Walking transects
- Checking refuge sites
- Monitoring water and soil quality
- Record and analyse data to help track habitat health and inform conservation work
- Desk-based tasks: support environmental projects and develop strategic documentation
- Public engagement: support activities in the Conservation Hub, assist with events, work with schools and visitors to encourage understanding of biodiversity
This internship sits within the Rothschild Foundations wider sustainability ambitions, supporting work to enhance biodiversity, manage natural resources responsibly, and create a resilient environment for the future.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors and has a genuine interest in biodiversity and the natural environment. This role involves practical tasks in a range of conditions, so you'll need to be adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working independently at times. you should also be confident working with people as public engagement is an important part of the internship.
