We are a mixed farm who for the past 10 years have very much stuck to regenerative farming principles. We run sheep over cover crops and winter cereals, cattle (indoor and outdoor) pigs, chickens and turkeys. We also have a small portfolio of cottages and some properties in London.
We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Estate Manager, job description to include the below tasks:
- Integral involvement in daily farm management including, where required, managing directly farm workers in their day to day tasks
- Assist Estate Manager on residential and commercial property management to include managing planning applications and development projects
- Assist Estate Manager for management of approved farm budgets
- Take responsibility for provision of farm "primary records" to internal accountancy function that produces periodic management accounts and VAT returns
- Assist Estate Manager on compliance with relevant agricultural regulations and maximise grant sourcing
- Assist Estate Manager on contracts to ensure proper delivery from outside counterparties on agreed terms and service levels
- Assist Estate Manager in evolving sustainability and husbandry best practice vision for Farm
Competencies and Background:
- Probably recent agricultural graduate
- Word and excel competency
- Comfortable at a computer screen as with a physical days work
- Excellence of character: devoid of ego, independence of thought, can do/roll up sleeves attitude and approach, empathetic, has the ability to build trust and alignment with the family’s vision for Little Rollright
- To have the highest standards of personal conduct and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with the family, Estate Manager and farm employees
Package - £26,000 p.a. plus cottage and employee benefits package
