Description

How to Apply

We are a father-daughter run dairy farm. We milk 68 purebred jerseys in a tie stall barn. Our cows pasture all summer and fall around the farm. We do all our own field work, which includes doing our own planting, haylege, corn silage and straw. We are also both very involved with the dairy industry, with Alain Remond as a board member on the Dariy Farmers of PEI milk board, and myself ( Deanna Doctor) on the board of directors for Jersey Canada.

Looking for someone who has strong animal husbandry skills, good mechanical skills, as well as driven tractors before. You definitely need to be work motivated, although we will never ask you to do any work we wouldn't be doing alongside you. Like in any farm job, there are long hours during harvest, so you must be willing to work until the job is done. Thankfully that is few and far between. There are also 4 kids ages 7 and under. You won’t be asked to watch them, but they are around and active on the farm. Open to helping you expand your skill set on breeding, selecting bulls, making culling decisions, medical interventions and other daily tasks to make you a well rounded dairy farmer.
