How to Apply

EVG are a family business established in 1976, and are proud to have been supplying the retail market for nearly 40 years. We have 3 core businesses in our EVG group: Springhill Farms, Vale Green Energy, and La Serra. We grow 4500 acres of salad, vegetable, and forage crops, and are the second largest grower of Spring Onions in the UK.

Over the past 10 years we have made major investments in green, sustainable energy solutions, including two anaerobic digestion plants and a 100 acre solar farm. We operate 21 hectares of UK tomato production (including a recently built 8 hectare of lit glasshouse which is the most advanced & energy efficient LED site in Europe), in addition to working with our partner growers in Europe, Africa, and North America, to provide high quality tomatoes year-round for our customers.

We are offering a comprehensive 1 year placement programme for student(s) looking to gain unique hands on experience of our supply chain covering green energy production, arable crops, the most advanced greenhouse technology in Europe, and our retail packing operation.

With the sustainability of the food system never more in focus this is an exciting time to join us and share responsibility in developing opportunities.

Our Placements

We provide 4 mini placements within the total placement, covering 4 different areas of business we operate in. They are:
1. Sustainable Agriculture - focusing on our salad vegetables and arable crop production
2. Green Energy Production - focusing on anaerobic digestion, solar power production and how this machinery operates
3. Food Production, Procurement, and Technology - you'll learn how we run our produce packing sites; what technical requirements are requested from our customers; how we procure produce from our global partner growers; and how we're aiming to be Net Zero by 2040
4. Horticulture - you'll learn how we grow tomatoes, and how the green energy we produce powers our state-of-the-art 8 hectare glasshouse.
