How to Apply
Nestled in beautiful countryside, Scrubditch Care Farm offers inclusive, farm-based activities that build confidence, independence, and well-being.
We support adults with learning disabilities through hands-on tasks like animal care, gardening, cooking, and woodworking. Our specialised sessions, such as ‘Feel Good Farming,’ also support those with dementia or mental health challenges, making a positive impact in an inspiring setting.
We are seeking a Horticulture & Wellbeing Lead to plan, deliver and monitor horticultural and environmental activity across our care farm. This is a hands-on role combining habitat management, volunteer coordination and therapeutic engagement with disabled adults and community groups.
From June 2026, you will deliver three sessions per week for beneficiaries, while leading the development of a thriving, sustainable and inclusive farm environment that supports both people and nature.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and implement an Environmental Management Plan and annual habitat programme
• Lead practical habitat work (planting, hedgerows, tree care, invasive species control)
• Plan seasonal growing, coordinate produce use/sales, and liaise with the kitchen
• Deliver engaging sessions for disabled adults and volunteers
• Coordinate and support volunteer days, including corporate groups
• Communicate plans, progress and impact to staff and stakeholders
• Manage ecological surveys (via external specialists where needed)
• Monitor activity, budgets and outcomes; produce quarterly reports
