Mole End Farms was founded in 1994 and grows organic top fruit on approximately 110 hectares of land across 8 sites in Kent at Cranbrook, Marden, Goudhurst, Sandhurst and Chart Sutton. We grow, store, pack and market our own produce, selling to major organic fruit and veg box suppliers such as Riverford and Abel & Cole. We are certified by the Soil Association, LEAF and Red Tractor.
During your placement you will learn the ropes of organic top fruit production and farm management and will get involved in everything we do here, from harvesting, tractor driving, packhouse operations, pruning and agronomy to finance, health and safety, compliance, staff management and business administration. You will be mentored by our farm and business director (and CEO), James Langley-Hunt. James has been with us at Mole End for 5 years and worked his way up from the bottom, doing everything you will be doing during your time here. You will learn a huge amount from James and the rest of the team.
We will offer you :
- A warm welcome and a year long work placement with a great team of people
- A great opportunity to learn all there is to know about a successful organic top fruit farming business, with day to day mentoring and support from our farm and business director
- A salary of £25,397 per year based on a 40 hour working week
- Caravan accommodation, if needed
We are really excited to be offering this work placement opportunity and look forward to welcoming the successful applicant to our hardworking and friendly team here at Mole End Farms.
