Description

How to Apply
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is part of the UK Wildlife Trusts movement and was founded in 1962, driven by a concern to protect local wildlife and natural habitats.
Today, we manage over 40 nature reserves across Wiltshire and Swindon, including wetland, woodland, meadow and chalk downland habitats.
The role
As an Estate Officer you will lead in the management and maintenance of our outstanding nature reserves. This role will be based in north Wiltshire and you will work over a diverse range of very special sites, from SSSI ancient woodlands and floodplain meadows to urban nature parks. If you are looking for a role in which you will be able to use your land management skills to really make a difference, then we would like to hear from you.
This role will work closely with other members of the Farm and Estate and Conservation Team to deliver an active and diverse work programme, using your own practical skills, in addition to engaging, recruiting and supervising contractors and volunteers. The work will vary by season and habitat and you will have projects that you will be able to see through from concept to completion.
There will be opportunities to support the farm staff, learning new skills in livestock handling and conservation grazing. You will also work closely with the Conservation Team who will be carrying out ecological surveying and monitoring to inform and direct your work.
PLEASE NOTE: if interest is significant we reserve the option to close the vacancy early and conduct interviews on an as required basis. Should the vacancy remain open until the stated deadline then interviews will be held on Friday 14th March 2025.
