At Bidwells, we are driven by our mission to provide the UK’s most sustainable and innovative property advice. For over 185 years, we have been at the forefront of real estate and have expanded our influence from our Cambridge head office across the Golden Triangle and beyond.

This year, Bidwells became among the pioneering UK property consultancies to receive BCorp accreditation, reflecting our commitment to being a responsible, purpose-driven business.

Are you a knowledgeable Heritage Graduate looking for a new role starting in September 2025?

If so, our highly regarded Heritage teams in London & Oxford are looking for someone like you!

Our successful and experienced Heritage team undertakes highly interesting projects across the UK. Due to the diversity of our experience, we have an unparalleled skill set to offer our clients and we're looking for an additional, knowledgeable Heritage Consultant to extend our offer further.

We provide heritage advice to developers and landowners by way of appraisals, statements, planning applications and appeals within residential, commercial, retail and rural sectors. We help to gain planning permission for new offices, retail sites, tall buildings, town- and city-centre mixed-use development and country houses.

We’ve been involved in the planning for the world’s most famous celebrity nightclub, a wartime military airfield and student housing scheme across 8 cities in the UK, just to name a few.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Taking job enquires
  • Assisting with site assessments
  • Assist with offering strategic and detailed built heritage advice to clients
  • Maintain and build client relationships
  • Provide input towards the submission of planning applications in cooperation with our planning team
  • Interact with planning and conservation officers at local planning authorities and Historic England
  • Assist with appeals
  • Produce Heritage Statements, Heritage Impact Assessments and related documents required to support planning or Listed Building applications
  • Set up clients within our business system
  • Undertake all necessary work in connection with the IHBC guidance
  • Ensure your built heritage policy knowledge is up to date with current legislation
  • Work with colleagues to increase knowledge of Planning/Heritage law and practice and seek opportunities to develop and increase exposure to projects

About You:

  • Degree in heritage-related/conservation/design discipline
  • Interest in working towards IHBC qualification
  • IT literate
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Excellent business English
  • Good attention to detail
  • Full driving licence

What You'll Achieve:

You'll have the opportunity to grow alongside us, and we're committed to supporting your progress every step of the way. We'll provide extensive assistance with the RICS APC, where our strong first-time pass rate speaks for itself.

You'll also join our two-year graduate development program, designed to enhance your personal effectiveness, commercial and financial acumen, and client delivery skills. This program will help you build a robust foundation for a successful career in the property sector, taking you beyond your current technical expertise.
